News report after news report yesterday afternoon talked of unexpected surprises, disorganization, disorientation  and personal disbelief. I happened to experience this natural phenomena while sitting in my living room awaiting a friend who had promised to move some furniture with me. A few buildings and storefronts lost a few bricks and mortar and the National Cathedral lost architectural stones.  Think about it, 5.8 is a cause for reflection.

Where were you? What you were doing? and what were you thinking about at that moment will be etched in your mind for sometime. It’s the unknown occurrences despite our prepardness or lack thereof that brings out our real strengths and resiliency.

I noticed just minutes after this happened as I walked outside a perfect day with very few clouds in the sky, very sunny with low humidity and a stark quiet-like peacefulness around me. I began to notice an errie feeling standing on the sidewalk below my feet.

Gosh it must have felt very strange from the wobbling back and forth effect I experienced in my apartment. What are your thoughts and experiences from yesterday’s event?

Quite frankly, I am most thankful because it could have been worse. Could it be we needed some diversion away from taxes and increased healthcare cost and unemployment and republicans and democrats and youth gangs and back to school and family and relationship squabbles and foreclosures.

 Life Coaching Tips for you…

* So much to be thankful for….Give thanks

*We possess more than we think we have…think about it…Say Hello to more    people… give someone a hug today

*We do care about this planet…how will you begin helping Mother Earth adapt and adjust

* Life is special… Show it !

 * I am so much like that other person…you are as in being human

 * I held it together emotionally…it’s ok to show your emotions/ communicate your thoughts

 * Nothing is constant….always changing …the Earth actually moves… slow down a little and experience being still….meditation in the moment works wonders and  has  shown to be healthy!

 * It will happen again… will not be ready for it…and that’s ok

 * Seek assistance if you are feeling a little more stressed than normal

 * Get back on the bike… forge ahead…create and build ….share your experience

Surprisingly enough we made it through an event most of us have never expereinced in our lifetime.  Perhaps this article should have been titled ” Time for Reflection.”

I suppose that I have written this blog for the past two years perhaps but I seem pressured almost every time I go to post my next entry. I don’t know why that happens , perhaps its stage fright or its human.

So when was the last time you said thank you to someone and really meant it? Tough question ,huh, especially in today’s world ,where we may begin our day thinking, what have you done for me lately or what’s in it for me. Surprisingly enough ,it feels good when its coming from another person. Better yet try counting the several times you publicly hear someone saying Thank you. You might be amazed of its frequency.

Elvis Presley actually coined the phrase of politeness by adding two more words, very much. Thank you very much was evidenced often to the many audiences during his unforgettable performances!

I’m about to reach over 970+ hits to my page and quite frankly I would probably have more but it’s not about the measure but I hope a message or a sentence that was inspiring and uplifting and which built confidence when there weren’t any around.

I found something from the book ” The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne” about showing a little gratitude and how much power it possesses if you were to do this daily. Here’s how it goes….

“Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never-ending thoughts that comes back to you of more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them. You will have locked into the frequency of gratitude and all good things will be yours.” Don’t take my word for it .try it , I suppose.

I’m only expressing my thanks for each of you who have visited my blog here at FindingYourZenith. Not going anywhere for now ….just sharing a little gratitude! I would love to hear what you have to say on the topic!

Thank you, very much!

January was never really my favorite month of the year i  guess that’s because it’s associated with leftovers and new beginnings .  The weather for starters exhibit days with moderate to low sunlight, shorter days i suppose, having to wear more clothing, a seemingly lack of spunk or energy, reduction of outdoor activities, and much more.

I guess i shouldn’t be so against January because it presents me with a time to do a little reflection, to start a new project , to re-kindle  a friendship, rumble through last year’s clothing and sundry of household items i no longer use nor desire to use, ponder an increased exercise  program,  alter my food intake from quantity to quality, or plan a garden , read those books i purchased three months ago, or  plan more time with my family and pets.

Quite frankly, there are so many things I could do during January that i haven’t mentioned i.e. games, dancing, monopoly, scrabble, and yes, even puzzles! I think I had better stop right here for the moment regarding bashing January and choose a few things that really resonate with me as I embrace each day of this month that in the past quickly went unnoticed.

my list……

1 while i am walking our dogs, Tanner and Lucky, i will bring along a bag to pick up trash that’s been left along the curb

2  when around my friends, associates, strangers…. take a moment to listen to what they are really saying before i jump in with my response

3 give without thinking about why  and to whom

4 i did say two things but …..this one is most important , at least to me….Giving Thanks to God …..and saying thank you, thank you ,and many more thank yous  to all unknown and known gifts, challenges, opportunities, successes, sorrows , and surprises  i experience!

I think that I am really going to be very engaged this month  if not with so much to do  but with so much to think about what i am capable of doing for myself and for others!

That’s getting through January………….
